Reminds me of when I finally figured out the truth about Santa Claus.
I guess I was 6 or 7 and I remember thinking it just didn't make sense.
If some fat bearded guy in a crazy outfit tried to gain access to our house down the chimney, dad would have made sure there's no way he would have gotten to the neighbors house.:bear_rolleyes:

Now there is a food processor. Fruits, vegetables, mixed drinks, it will even remove dents from the car, one tool for many jobs.

Now THAT is all I want for Christmas.

Anyone know when that was done? I think it might have been back when they were bringing in the ban. Kind of a protest song. Apparently it's a fairly new song. Enjoyed it I did.

Tried to get my wife to watch this, but she is totally anti-County music and could not get past the first 30 seconds.
I like the Thumper at the end. Too bad it wasn't a solid hit on teh ccar. It would have been cool to see a square hit with the grenade.

Lee, a country musician who usually performs with his wife and four children, was inspired to write the song many years ago because of negative media coverage of guns.

"When you watch movies, firearms are portrayed as a bad thing � I wanted to show that they can be used for fun and sport and not violence,'' he said.

The song, which features such lines as ''[God] gave me this voice so I can be a singer, so you tell me why I've got a trigger finger'', has been successful in America, where the debate over gun control still rages.
Lee said that while he was happy about his overseas success, he wouldn't like the issue of gun control in Australia to go the way of the American debate.

"You have got to abide by the law, and there are some people out there who shouldn't be able to use guns," he said. "[But] I like guns and I use guns in the bush."

Gun Control Australia president John Crook said the song was irresponsible for portraying guns as fun and non-violent.

"The gun control laws we have in Australia have only been obtained after thousands of people have been killed.''

Thousands is a big number. I think he would be struggling to come up with some facts to support that claim.
